Ruska strateška jedrska podmornica »Generalissimus Suvorov« je v okviru načrtovanih dejavnosti bojne vadbe uspešno izstrelila medcelinsko balistično raketo »Bulava« iz Ohotskega morja.

Kot je sporočilo ministrstvo za obrambo Ruske federacije, je bila raketa izstreljena iz podvodnega položaja, njene bojne glave pa so na predvideno območje prispele ob načrtovanem času.

Izstrelitev je bila izvedena v okviru preverjanja bojne pripravljenosti podmornice, ki je del ruskih strateških jedrskih sil.

Podmornica »Generalissimus Suvorov«, oznaka K-553, spada v četrto generacijo ruskih jedrskih podmornic projekta 955A »borej-A«.

Zgrajena je bila v ladjedelnici »Sevmash«, v rusko mornarico je vstopila konec leta 2022, od leta 2023 pa je del Pacifiške flote.

Kdo je bil Aleksander Suvorov?

Podmornica je dobila ime po Aleksandru Vasiljeviču Suvorovu (1730–1800), enem najbolj znanih ruskih vojskovodij in generalissimu Ruskega imperija. Suvorov si je vojaško slavo pridobil v 18. stoletju, zlasti v vojnah proti Otomanskemu cesarstvu, pa tudi v kampanjah v Italiji in Švici. Velja za enega najuspešnejših vojskovodij v ruski zgodovini, spominjajo pa se ga po tem, da ni izgubil niti ene bitke, ki ji je poveljeval. Vodil je vojake v več kot 60 bitkah in vedno zmagal.

Znan je tudi po svojih vojaških načelih, v katerih je poudarjal hitrost, odločnost in nenaden napad. Številne ruske vojaške ustanove in odlikovanja nosijo njegovo ime še danes.
