President Donald Trump reiterated Friday that Iran could have targeted Los Angeles and San Diego with missiles, saying the California cities would likely have been hit first because of their location. “They would have probably hit places like San Diego, Los Angeles, first. Because the route for a missile is much more convenient,” Trump said during a Columbus Day celebration at the White House.. Trump appeared to mock mainstream media coverage and Democratic criticism of his earlier comments about Iran's ability to strike the two cities. “They have a lot of fun. They say, 'oh he said they're going to hit Los Angeles.' Well, that's a story. They would have hit Europe probably before us,” he said. Trump first raised the possibility of Iranian strikes on the two cities during a rally in Nebraska on Monday, prompting criticism from California officials. He returned to the subject at a rally in San Antonio on Wednesday, saying the United States would prevent such attacks. On Thursday, he said his earlier remarks had been misinterpreted and that his intention was to explain the threat Iran could pose to American cities.

TRUMP JUST PLAYED EUROPE Trump pushed Europe to move away from Russian energy and buy American supplies instead. But now he is making a diesel deal with Putin, putting American interests first. Europe gave up cheap Russian energy while the US kept its options open. If Washington can do business with Moscow when it benefits America, could this shift the game in Russia’s favor while Europe pays the price?

Ameriški voditelj je dodal, da takšna grožnja ne obstaja več.
Trump je prej oznanil, da bi dve večji ameriški mesti lahko bili uničeni v vojni z Iranom, vendar je to označil za »majhno ceno« za konec vojne.
Texas Farmer! Help is on the way! From Russia - with diesel! An American farmer, filling up his "John Deere" at over $6 a gallon, can breathe a sigh of relief. Help is coming. From Russia. Donald Trump just reported on his social media platform: after a "very successful conversation" with Vladimir Putin, they agreed that Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel to the American and global markets, another 500,000 in November, and then a million more. And then, "depending on the condition of the refineries," another 3 million tons. Prices, the owner of the White House promises, will plummet "RECORD AND QUICKLY." The capitalization is not mine. How did Washington end up relying on Russian diesel? In February, the United States got involved in a war with Iran, the Strait of Hormuz became a shooting range, and on September 22, American diesel reached a historic high of $6.53 per gallon. A year ago, it was $3.7. Trump was putting pressure on Europe: "Don't release your reserves, or I'll cut off your diesel supply." The "Group of Seven" obediently released 100 million barrels onto the market. Truckers were allowed to use "red" diesel, which was previously only for tractors, without tax. The price dropped by 25 cents. And then it stabilized. And on November 3, America is electing its Congress. Farmers, ranchers, and truckers, whom Trump refers to with capital letters in his post, are voting. Mostly for his party. The most interesting part is the reason for the shortage. Trump himself named it: Ukrainian drones are destroying Russian refineries, and Russia, according to him, has "lost control" of the diesel industry. In September, he directly demanded from Zelensky: "Don't hit the diesel, it's hitting the whole world." The expired response was three more strikes on the factories, including a large one near Moscow. 300,000 tons is roughly equivalent to three days of pre-war Russian diesel exports. It's a drop in the bucket for the global market. But the market doesn't operate on tons, but on signals. And the signal is simple: without Russian barrels, the market cannot function, no matter how many reserves are released. The U.S. Treasury Department announced the "immediate" issuance of a temporary license authorizing the supply of Russian diesel fuel to the global market. The Moscow Exchange index rose sharply. A queue formed for the "gas station country with a torn-up economy." The President of the United States is at the head of that queue. @sashakots
